About The Position

At Collaborative Student Transportation (CST), summer is one of our busiest and most important seasons. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, our Logistics team plays a critical role in making sure students are accurately routed onto vehicles and that information is clearly communicated to our partners. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, team-focused intern to support our routing operations during the summer months, with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in student transportation logistics and potentially grow into future roles with CST. This is a remote, hourly internship with flexible scheduling. What You’ll Do As a Logistics Intern, you’ll support the day-to-day work of our routing team by helping make sure students are accurately assigned to vehicles and that routing information is clearly documented and communicated. You’ll work closely with a remote team of experienced routing professionals and gain exposure to real-world logistics operations in a student-centered organization. We’re Student-Centered CST is committed to making sure students get to school safely and on time. Our logistics and routing work is foundational to that mission. Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of education at an accredited college or technical school (preferred major in supply chain, logistics, business, engineering, or a related major)
  • Proficiency with Google Suite products such as Docs and Sheets
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in route scheduling and communication.
  • Problem-Solving Aptitude: Capacity to analyze problems, propose solutions, and implement effective resolutions.

Responsibilities

  • Route Coordination: Schedule and allocate students on trips efficiently to ensure the timely and safe transportation of students.
  • Route Optimization: Leverage industry-leading tools to optimize trips on vehicles to maximize resources and minimize waste.
  • Problem Solving: Utilize independent judgment to identify and resolve transportation issues promptly and effectively.
  • Communication: Exhibit excellent communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of route scheduling and communication.
  • Organizational Skills: Manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines and objectives.
