About The Position

We’re looking for an experienced Workers’ Compensation Loss Control Consultant to help strengthen and evolve our consultative loss control approach within a predominantly small commercial workers’ compensation portfolio. This is more than a traditional loss control role; it’s an opportunity to influence strategy, improve loss outcomes, and help define how workers’ compensation loss control is delivered, positioned, and valued across the organization and with external partners. This role is ideal for a self-directed professional with an entrepreneurial mindset—someone who thrives with autonomy, sees opportunity in ambiguity, and enjoys building practical, real-world solutions that make a difference.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in workers’ compensation loss control, risk consulting, or occupational safety.
  • Strong working knowledge of workers’ compensation exposures, loss drivers, and operational risk factors.
  • Ability to work independently, identify problems, and develop practical solutions while managing priorities, and maintaining visibility into both field and behind the scenes activities.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support workers’ compensation accounts, vendor engagement, and internal collaboration.
  • Comfort working in a changing environment where processes and expectations are still being developed
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% across the continental U.S.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as ARM or CSP preferred.
  • OSHA‑authorized trainer certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze workers’ compensation losses and exposures to identify and prioritize key loss drivers.
  • Translate analysis into practical guidance that supports underwriting decisions, claims strategy, and risk improvement efforts.
  • Proactively identify emerging issues, inefficiencies, or gaps in current workers’ compensation loss control practices and recommend solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted, consultative resource for larger or more complex policyholders by helping develop service approaches grounded in true loss drivers and realistic controls.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for communicating consultative expectations to inspection vendors, particularly for larger or more complex risks.
  • Monitor vendor coverage and performance, identify gaps, and support improvements in report quality and consistency.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of workers’ compensation loss control processes, standards, and tools as the program continues to mature.
  • Participate in reviewing and improving workers’ compensation inspection forms and recommendations to ensure information collected is meaningful, actionable, and aligned with underwriting and claims needs.
  • Collaborate closely with underwriting and claims partners to align priorities, share insights, and support consistent application of loss control guidance.
  • Contribute constructively to evolving processes, recognizing that responsibilities and workflows may change over time.

  • Competitive compensation
  • Healthcare benefits package that begins on first day of employment
  • 401K retirement plan with company match
  • Enjoy generous paid time off to support your work-life balance plus 9 ½ paid holidays
  • Up to 6 weeks of parental and bonding leave
  • Hybrid work schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)
  • Longevity awards (every 5 years of employment, receive a generous monetary award to be used toward a vacation)
  • Tuition reimbursement after 6 months of employment
  • Numerous opportunities for continued training and career advancement
