Duties and Responsibilities: Cultivates a desire for thinking and learning among their students. Integrates Biblical principles through the teaching in the content area. Contributes to the school's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives. Establishes and adjusts course outlines and objectives by following curriculum guidelines provided by the school; modifying plans on the basis of student diagnostic and assessment procedures. Conveys information to students by using language concepts, examples, demonstrations, and teaching aids, utilizing whatever resources necessary. Completes educational requirements by scheduling and assigning learning opportunities; following up on results. Assesses student learning by preparing, administering and scoring tests; reviewing and correcting assignments; eliciting student questions and responses; evaluating application of learning to classroom project results. Maintains student learning results by providing instructional feedback; coaching, counseling and discipling students; planning, monitoring and appraising learning results. Maintains records by documenting lesson plans, learning accomplishments, attendance, behavior, and parent communications. Guides students’ personal, spiritual and social development by establishing rules and procedures for administrative matters, student verbal participation and student movement within the classroom, between classrooms and elsewhere on campus; and by recognizing individual needs that the students exhibit. Helps parents by providing academic information; suggesting available educational and social resources; addressing parents’ concerns; answering questions and requests. Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising school administration of needed actions. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing a personal learning network; participating in professional societies; accepting professional supervision including constructive criticism and directives for change. Maintains an attractive, organized, safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations; implementing annual check out procedures and record keeping. Demonstrates intentional stewardship by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish educational results. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed; maintaining positive, encouraging relationships with other faculty members; attending required school and faculty meetings, devotions, PTFs and parent conferences. Contributes to spiritual growth of the programs by example, personal and professional studies and personal devotions and worship. Fulfills other duties as assigned. Follows the Matthew 18 principles and 1 Corinthians 13 in conflict resolution. Other Information: This is a 10 month, full time (40 hours per week) contract position. Requirements

  • Prefer a valid Georgia teaching certificate in early childhood/elementary education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education
  • Knowledge of child development
  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction for the grade level
  • Ability to instruct students, manage their behavior and nurture the whole child
  • Strong organizational, computer, communication and interpersonal skills
