The Machine Operator II will set up, operate, and maintain production machinery to manufacture high-quality products according to specifications and production schedules. This role requires a strong understanding of machine operation, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety and quality standards within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Technical certification or vocational training in a relevant field is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and machine interface operation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime, as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor various production machines, including setup, adjustments, and minor repairs, ensuring optimal performance and product quality.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment to minimize downtime and extend machine life.
  • Monitor production processes, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot machine malfunctions or product defects promptly.
  • Load and unload materials and components into machines, ensuring correct placement and orientation.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks, inspect finished products for defects, and ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including downtime, output, and quality data.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to achieve production goals.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to machine operation, safety, or quality processes.
  • Assist with training new operators on machine operation and safety procedures as needed.
