About The Position

The Machine Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical and technical tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, as well as performing scheduled preventive maintenance. The Machine Technician reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to complete maintenance activities accurately, identifies and resolves equipment issues, and reports faulty operations or unusual conditions to supervision. The position requires strict adherence to OSHA safety regulations and a strong commitment to maintaining clean, organized, and compliant work areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, along with completion of a skilled trade or craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on production maintenance experience
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals across all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Windows-based applications

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Carry out a broad range of machine maintenance activities to support the continued operation and reliability of production equipment
  • Respond promptly to unplanned equipment breakdowns and perform corrective repairs during production, as well as complete planned maintenance during scheduled service periods
  • Set up production machines and provide guidance to machine operators on proper daily setup, operation, and basic maintenance procedures
  • Apply technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to troubleshoot issues and restore equipment functionality
  • Utilize equipment documentation, manuals, and work orders to accurately complete maintenance tasks and service requirements
  • Identify equipment malfunctions, make necessary adjustments or part replacements, and verify repairs through testing and calibration
  • Execute routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
  • Monitor equipment performance, recognize abnormal conditions or defective materials, and escalate concerns to appropriate leadership
  • Follow OSHA safety standards, company policies, and best practices while keeping work areas clean, organized, and compliant
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned
