Who You Are: As a Machinist in our fabrication department, you will work alongside your peers to produce machined parts by programming, setting up and running CNC mills and lathes. You will be responsible for maintaining the quality of the product, ensuring the care and maintenance of the equipment, assuring readiness of tooling and materials and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. A Day in the Life: Plans machining operations by studying work orders, blueprints and engineering documents. Sets-up vertical 3-axis mills and 4-axis, live tooling lathes using a mix of modern and traditional work and tool holding techniques. Indicates tooling and work holding to ensure machined parts meet quality standards. Verifies quality of parts by performing both in-process and final part inspections. Uses standard measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to take responsibility for quality and accuracy of work. Troubleshoot machining irregularities and optimize programs. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by performing basic upkeep tasks and requesting repairs as needed. Maintains continuity among work shifts and team members by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to each job. What Will Set You Up for Success: A high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge and/or training/certification in Lean Manufacturing and 5S is a plus. Experience with Haas CNC machines and Haas Wireless Intuitive Probing System (WIPS) is a plus. Familiarity with Haas conversational programming (VQC/VPS) is a plus. Possess a strong understanding of G & M codes. Programming experience with Esprit, or similar CAM software is a plus. Macro and/or parametric programming experience is valued. Nice To Haves

Knowledge and/or training/certification in Lean Manufacturing and 5S is a plus.
