About The Position

Join our team at Collins Aerospace Onsite in Fairfield, CA, where we're seeking a Machinist II. At our facility, we specialize in the manufacturing and testing of explosive, propellant, and cartridge-actuated devices. From intricate components to critical systems like canopy removal mechanisms, our work directly impacts the safety and effectiveness of our products. Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  • 1+ years of experience using a machine in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of experience in manual machining
  • Previous experience using CNC machines
  • GD&T understanding is a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings

Responsibilities

  • Performs services for machinery used to create parts for the manufacturing process
  • Follow established controls to evaluate and verify quality.
  • Support operations and production process by reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to gather tools and supplies necessary for operations
  • Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
  • Gather, compile, and report production information data for analysis.
  • Communicates with operators and other team members to understand individual requirements
  • Adheres to safety standards, company policies, and industrial regulations
  • Work closely with other machinists for guidance and support
