About The Position

As a Mail Equipment Operator 2, you will process and prepare mail to meet U.S. Postal Service (USPS) and customer standards while earning the best possible postage discounts. This role involves operating and maintaining high-speed mail equipment and ensuring accuracy and quality in all mail jobs.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience operating and maintaining high-speed mail-processing equipment that includes production folders, optical character recognition scanners, inserters, and ink jet addressing equipment.

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Operate high-speed inserting machines to prepare mailings.
  • Read scan marks to match documents from multiple feeders.
  • Handle sensitive and negotiable documents.
  • Set up and program equipment for each job.
  • Perform quality checks and keep logs.
  • Enter accounting and production data into computer systems.
  • Sort and meter mail using specialized equipment.
  • Prepare presorted and bulk mail according to USPS standards.
  • Generate reports and maintain records for all mail classes.
  • Maintain equipment by performing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance.
