Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role years of experience in software engineering
Proficiency in 1 or more software languages and development methodologies
Strong programming and debugging skills
Some prior experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity
Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices
Good communication and teamwork skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Must be ITAR-compliant and able to provide proof of citizenship.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship.
Applicants must reside in the continental United States on US Soil.
A background check and drug test are required.

Technologies: COBOL, FORTRAN, PLI, z/OS, JCL, DB2, IMS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, FLASHR, ACFII, Mainframe Hardware/Networking, MQ Series, MACPAC, CATIA.

Responsibilities

System Monitoring & Maintenance: Oversee performance, execute jobs, manage backups, resolve abends, and ensure high availability.
Incident & Problem Management: Act as the point person for critical issues, quickly assess severity, escalate appropriately, and ensure timely resolution.
Collaboration: Work with business analysts, project managers, and other IT departments (security, apps, infrastructure).
Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols and integrity measures.
Performance Tuning: Analyze system performance, implement improvements, and conduct regular maintenance and updates.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and operational tasks.
Strategic Planning: Participate in planning for upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts, identifying opportunities for improvement.
