About The Position

Since the doors opened in 1972, our Atlanta factory has grown dramatically into a state-of-the-art facility. With sustainability and safety at the forefront of our minds, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Friskies®, Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®. As a HVAC Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing plant-wide HVAC systems, boiler room operations, and electrical and mechanical devices. You will troubleshoot equipment, operate shop equipment, and repair equipment with minimal supervision. Working in a safe manner at all times, you will handle projects that span electrical, mechanical and automation maintenance challenges. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of HVAC experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military or related environment OR a 2-year technical degree

Nice To Haves

  • Universal Refrigerant license EPA 608 preferred
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Trouble shoot and repair plant wide HVAC, boiler room systems and operation
  • Work safely at all times, following safety policies and procedures and attending safety meetings.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical reasons for failure
  • Lay out and fabricate simple duct work
  • Work on new mechanical installation from design to completion
  • Properly select and install plant approved insulation materials
  • Perform special welding applications such as alloy or thin metal welding
