Works closely with and reports directly to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor I. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following: • Work requires specialization in two or more technical trades in connection with maintenance of facilities, related equipment and machinery. • Position functions at the journey level in multiple skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, masonry, heating and air, or similar specializations. • Work assignments are complex and require planning and coordination of multiple trade disciplines. • Employees work independently in performing assigned tasks but refers very technical or unusual working problems to a supervisor for consideration. • Work will include the supervision of inmate workers engaged in semiskilled, unskilled or of skilled maintenance assignments. • Work is evaluated based on compliance with work orders and success in keeping equipment in proper working condition. • Employees may perform other duties as required. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Working knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and/or materials used in the general maintenance and/or repair of buildings, equipment, and/or machinery. Necessary Special Qualifications: May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.
