About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Functions: · To Maintain and promote the Tyson Safety culture. · Receive Training as required. · Perform various duties as required/assigned. · Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs. · Train Maintenance techs on equipment. · Order parts as need and follow-up on parts order with outstanding PO's. · Fill in for absenteeism or assisting in other areas of plant. Must have a minimum of 1 year of documented mechanic work experience in the work history section of the application and/ or resume, be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program, or training beyond high school in either an associate or technical field. Candidates with a combination of experience and training will be considered. Experience in general mechanics, maintenance, welding, electrical, and hydraulics is preferred. Tasks: General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Must be willing to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery. Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers. Must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job. Working Schedule: Thursday 10 am-4 pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 4 am- 4 pm. Safety is always FIRST with Tyson Foods and at Tyson, all Team Members are expected to practice safety standards, policies, and procedures. All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.
