About The Position

Nature's Grace and Wellness is seeking a full-time Maintenance Lead HVAC Specialist to join our team. This role ensures the facility is in compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining a high level of operational efficiency. The Maintenance Lead will oversee a team of maintenance technicians, assist in troubleshooting and repairs, and help manage maintenance schedules for all equipment related to cannabis cultivation, processing, and packaging. Leadership & Team Management Team Guidance: Assist the Maintenance Manager in leading, training, and scheduling the maintenance team to ensure smooth operations and a proactive approach to maintenance. Daily Oversight: Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities and provide direct guidance to the team on troubleshooting, complex repairs, and preventative maintenance (PM) schedules. Risk Management: Proactively identify maintenance risks throughout the facility and implement corrective actions to prevent equipment failure. HVAC & Environmental Control (Cannabis Specific) Climate Optimization: Monitor and maintain large-scale HVAC systems, dehumidification units, and CO2 injection systems to ensure strict adherence to set vapor pressure deficit (VPD) and temperature parameters required for cannabis health. Air Quality Management: Oversee the regular inspection and replacement of specialized filtration systems (HEPA and Charcoal/Carbon filters) to manage odor control and prevent cross-contamination of molds or pests. Sensor Calibration: Ensure all environmental sensors and automated climate control interfaces are calibrated and communicating accurately with the facility's central management system. Emergency Response: Perform emergency HVAC repairs promptly and efficiently to prevent crop loss during system fluctuations or power outages. Facility & Equipment Maintenance Operational Efficiency: Support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring all machinery and facility infrastructure are in optimal working condition, minimizing downtime and production disruptions. Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of production lines, irrigation systems, utilities, and facility infrastructure. Specialized Repair: Troubleshoot machinery to detect root causes of malfunctions; perform cleaning, adjusting, and warranty services as needed. General Trades: Execute light plumbing and electrical work; experience in conduit bending and wire pulling is highly preferred. Grounds & Upkeep: Oversee the repair and upkeep of the building and grounds, including power washing tanks/facility and general exterior maintenance (e.g., weed eating) when necessary. Administrative & Vendor Coordination Vendor Management: Coordinate with outside vendors and specialized contractors for high-voltage electrical or industrial HVAC services when necessary. Budgeting: Assist with budgeting for maintenance activities, identifying cost-effective solutions for parts, repairs, and facility improvements. Documentation: Maintain meticulous daily logs, work orders, and records of all maintenance functions. Inventory: Responsible for maintaining parts inventories and submitting supply requests to ensure zero downtime for critical systems.

Requirements

  • EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) is required; NATE certification is a plus
  • 3+ years in industrial maintenance, preferably in a climate-controlled cultivation or food manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in basic electrical (conduit/wiring) and plumbing/irrigation systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior technicians
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varying humidity/temperature environments
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office as well demonstrates good computer skill
  • Must be 21 years of age to apply
  • Must be able to pass a federal background check
  • Ability to be fitted for and wear all required proper protective equipment
