About The Position

Responsible for issues related to maintenance and improvement of equipment and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. Specific Duties: Maintain an organized, clean work area Maintenance of equipment and building Trains other mechanics and operators as necessary Assist in keeping CMMS software in order May need to take phone calls and help troubleshoot during off hours Assist in inventory and parts organization Familiarity with electrical systems from 12VDC – 480VAC Knowledge of pneumatic and vacuum systems Knows all applicable Sanitation and Safety SOP’s Knows general company policies and handbook policies Maintain a positive attitude and promote proactive maintenance work Maintains excellent communication and relationships with other employees to foster team effort Seeks out new ways to improve productivity Forklift Certified Additional duties may be assigned and/or required Personal Qualifications: A Lead Maintenance Mechanic should be able to perform many common industrial maintenance tasks and help other mechanics learn the same skills. Mist be able to maintain productivity with limited supervision Must be willing to make maintenance decisions when other leaders are not present Training the other mechanics should be a major focus of the Lead Mechanic. Strong troubleshooting and communication skills are required Must be able to work with limited supervision and have a willingness and desire to learn new equipment Ability to work as part Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude Ability to adhere to schedule work hours Maintain proper hygiene Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions in English Education Requirements: Competent in CMMS, Excel and Microsoft Word PLC programming training or equivalent experience preferred  High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Physical Requirements: Must be able to squat and bend for extended periods of time. Twisting and reaching are required. Pushing and pulling heavy loads. Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 55 pounds regularly Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
