About The Position

We perform installation, rigging, millwrighting, and maintenance for manufacturing and industrial markets across the Southeast. Job Summary Southern Industrial Constructors seeks Maintenance Mechanic for an on-going site in the West Jefferson, NC area. This is a third shift position : 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm. Requirements

2-year degree in Electrical/Machine Technology or Similar Technology Degree plus 5 years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician Or 10 Plus years’ experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
Or a 2-year degree in Machine Technology or Similar Technology Degree will be considered as an entry level position.
May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders, and in awkward body positions
Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment
Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

Perform Daily PM's as scheduled for equipment at the site.
Repair and maintain equipment in accordance with OEM specifications. This includes machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, ballscrews and PLC's for production equipment.
Ability to diagnose and make repairs on variety of plant equipment and systems.
Diagnose equipment failure and institute action to return equipment to normal operations.
Knowledge of electrical controls and power distribution.
Knowledge of compressed air, HVAC, and domestic water systems.
Maintain records and logs as needed.
Knowledge of safety standards and precautions for plant maintenance and repair work.
Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
Observe SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.
Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.
Perform other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
