About The Position

Responsible for operating, inspecting, repairing, maintaining of the hospital & boiler plant, auxiliary equipment, emergency generators/switchgear, and related process equipment. Proficient in all job functions of Facilities Maintenance Technician I. Provides training and assistance to Tech I and assists Tech III. Reports to Supervisor of Plant Operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of pump repair, brazing, electrical troubleshooting, HVAC equipment boiler operation, plumbing and blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of boilers, chillers, absorbers, cooling towers, pumps, computers and hospital related equipment.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Three years in boiler or hospital operation and equipment repair.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Current California State Driver’s License.
• Must be 21 years of age or older; must have (2) years of continuous driving experience in the state of California. If a license is suspended, the experience record begins from the time of license reinstatement; must have no major convictions (ie DUI/DWI, hit and run, driving with suspended license, reckless driving, alluding police, open containers, exhibition of speed (racing), negligent driving); must have no more than one (1) moving citation in a three (3) year period; must have no more than one (1) at- fault accident in a three (3) year period. Accidents will be considered at- fault unless evidence is provided (ie police report and/or letter from insurance company) showing the incident as not at-fault).
