About The Position

Under limited supervision, performs highly skilled, complex maintenance and repair work requiring substantial experience, technical expertise, and independent judgment. Performs related duties as assigned, with a focus on refrigeration maintenance and machine repair.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial setting.
  • Current valid driver’s license
  • PLC control panel background for processing and conveyed equipment
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration repair/maintenance
  • Ability to work OT, weekends or Holidays as requested by management or required to complete necessary repairs or special projects
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated warehouse for up to 8 hours at a time
  • Ability to work in the outdoor elements as the job needs arise
  • Basic computer use proficiency (Microsoft Outlook, CMMS systems, etc.)
  • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and controls systems

Nice To Haves

  • Food processing background is a definite plus
  • Licensing and Certification a Plus but not Required: Boiler License Refrigeration License OSHA 30-Hour Certification Confined Space trained and compliant
  • PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) trained and/or certified

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, refrigeration systems, and facility infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues, including PLC-controlled equipment
  • Maintain and service food processing equipment such as washers, peelers, dicing and slicing machines, juice extraction, and bottling systems
  • Maintain refrigeration systems, coordinate preventive maintenance schedules, and work with outside refrigeration contractors as needed
  • Install, modify, fabricate, and repair mechanical components, piping, structures, and equipment using appropriate materials and tools
  • Conduct electrical installations, repairs, testing, and maintenance of equipment, controls, and facility systems
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to restore functionality and minimize production downtime
  • Proactively manage preventive maintenance (PM) programs using CMMS, including scheduling, work order completion, and documentation
  • Track labor hours, parts, materials, and maintenance activities accurately within CMMS and maintenance logs
  • Purchase supplies, tools, and materials necessary to complete maintenance and repair projects
  • Perform general construction, building repairs, and preventative facility maintenance as required
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, shift rounds, and system performance checks to identify and address potential issues
  • Operate company vehicles, stationary machinery, and a variety of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and testing instruments safely
  • Lead, train, and provide technical guidance to Maintenance Technicians and other assigned personnel
  • Support in-house projects and complete non-maintenance work requests as assigned
  • Perform other related duties consistent with the scope of the position
