We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Maintenance Technician! This person will have a genuine interest in working with older adults and be able to engage, motivate, and support both residents and fellow team members. Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal directions.
  • High School education or GED required; graduate of accredited technical school preferred, but not required.
  • Position requires a minimum of one to three years of hands-on maintenance and/or mechanical experience.
  • Position requires a valid driver’s license.
  • Position may require certifications or licenses, as determined by local authority.

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendations and operation manuals; performs maintenance repairs such as: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance checks throughout the facility which may include assisting inspectors and contractors in the testing, inspection or repair of equipment, building/mechanical systems and structure; responds to all emergencies such as: fire, smoke, panic, alarms.
  • Completes work orders and special projects in a timely manner; keeps maintenance shop and storage areas neat and orderly; maintains tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Is on call for all disaster emergencies such as: snow, ice storms, fire, tornados and floods; is placed on a weekly on call schedule.
  • Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
  • Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.
  • Employee will be in the “On Call” cycle.
