This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. As part of a hardworking team of facilities professionals, you will push the boundaries of what’s possible in facilities management as a visionary and hands-on leader supporting our manufacturing and launch pad facilities operations. This role serves as a key leadership position during launch campaigns, ensuring operational readiness, infrastructure reliability, and seamless coordination across stakeholders in high-visibility, time-critical environments.

Requirements

  • This position requires at 10 years of relevant practical experience in facilities operations.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of planning and guiding complex work in a critical environment across multiple organizations.
  • Must have had a recent and relevant leadership role in facilities management and/or operations.
  • Strong bias for action and a proven track record for delivering results while working with a small team in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience with CMMS or EAM systems (Maximo experience highly preferred).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (oral and written).

  • Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a space vehicle manufacturing or launch environment.
  • Experience working with US Air Force and/or US Space Force or other Government entities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small and versatile team of facility coordinators, planners, project managers, maintenance planners, and specialists.
  • Serve as a facilities leadership representative during launch campaigns, ensuring infrastructure readiness, rapid response capability, and cross-functional coordination in support of mission success.
  • Provide oversight and direction to maintenance planners to ensure preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities are effectively prioritized and executed.
  • Responsible for development and monitoring of operational budgets.
  • Manage facilities support vendors, including the development of agreements, RFP’s, SOW’s, and day-to-day oversight of their tasks.
  • Support new construction meetings by providing operational input which will enhance new facility design and usage.
  • Oversee site furniture distribution, maintenance, and replacements, including large-scale people moves, workspace reconfigurations, and occupancy planning to support organizational growth.
  • Oversee site key program and coordinate locksmith services as required.
  • Oversee the purchasing and inventory management of consumable supplies and critical spares to ensure operational continuity and minimize downtime risk.
  • Assure buildings and grounds appearances meet Blue’s visual standards.
  • Oversee and provide status of high visibility work and report problems to management and provide recommendations where applicable.
  • Perform regular site walks to generate corrective maintenance work orders and identify safety deficiencies.
  • Contribute to facilities team awareness of infrastructure and system status by highlighting discrepancies and areas of increased risk.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within Blue Facilities and in coordination with other company stakeholders.
