Job Description Title: Manager I, Quality Department: Quality Type: Full Time Other: NA Reports to: Department Head, Quality Status: Salary Salary Range: Based on Experience Direct reports 2-5 Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. We are in Rock Spring, GA, and operate on 3 shifts with 400 employees. We have three main manufacturing departments, Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly. We are part of Astemo, Inc. with 90,000 employees worldwide. Tasks and Responsibilities : The Asst. Quality Department Manager exercises responsibility for the leadership of Quality Assurance and Quality Control. The position requires developing Quality Business plans based off company strategies, Regional and Global directives, Past Problem History analysis, and the adaptation of an ever-changing market. When accomplishing tasks, remember to work toward meeting overall company goals established which include, OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, Ethical & Legal compliance, Customer Quality, Production to Plan, and Delivery Performance. Safety & Environmental: This position will help support Safety & Environmental at the USRSP1 site as needed. All Safety policies and procedures will be adhered to and required by this position and maintained throughout the Quality Assurance group. Quality : Ensures Quality Management Systems are followed Including Supplier Quality Manual requirements. Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required. Supports all ISO and related audits. Coordinates all sample submissions of new products and engineering changes. Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers. Contacts customers and suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality problems. Supports quality department budget preparation and other administrative functions to affect a well-integrated, efficient operation. Supports the review of the quality program and the formulation of new or revised procedures to effect improvements, reduce costs and enhance efficiency on a company-wide basis. Ensures that all department personnel are trained to perform their jobs effectively when performing Quality specific tasks. Delivery : Ensures Quality Products are being shipped to all customers in a timely manner. Productivity : Works toward overall goal of meeting defined targets for project completion. This includes the Company Quality Business Plan and daily objectives. Reporting: Reports directly to the Quality Department Head, also reports in management team meetings. Create and / or support reports to Customer, Supplier, Internal Management as needed. Be able to present material both in-house and at the Customer, Supplier location. Be able to present to large groups, or in a classroom setting, or to the individual. Preferred Skills: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possess ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required. Must be able to work from Engineering specifications, manuals, drawings, established procedures, verbal and written instructions, use a variety of precision measuring equipment. Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal. Must possess proven management / leadership skills, SPC, FMEA, all customer directed and Internal corrective action processes. Ability to work well with others in a team environment. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills. Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts and best practices. Minimum Experienced Preferred: 2 years Quality Automotive experience with a good understanding of Quality Management Systems and Supplier Quality Manual requirements. Key Metrics Responsibility: Customer Index and PPM. Quality and Company Business plans and objectives. Quality training processes, defect reduction. CoPQ. Physical Demands: This position may require standing, walking, and supporting activities on the production floor.
