Job Summary Provides the coordination, planning, scheduling, development, acquisition, and maintenance of city-wide computer application systems such as: payroll, police and fire dispatch and 9-1-1 systems, and water billing; manage the 24 hour/day, 365 day/year operation of the Data Processing Center; or plan, acquire, and manage all internally and externally-developed mainframe, LAN, WAN, and PC operating software. Job Description Overview The Manager-Information Technology manages, oversees, and provides oversight for the development, coordination, implementation, and completion of the Information Technology resources, equipment, configuration, instrumentation, and operation. The Manager-Information Technology (Mobile Technology) This position will manage the Mobile Technology Center which handles radio technology, mobile computing technology and in-vehicle technologies to public safety and other city departments. This will include supervising technical personnel in the referenced work centers in the management of personnel and vendors in the delivery of in car computer systems, vehicle camera systems, carried and vehicle installed radio communication devices and other in vehicle technology solutions. This also includes asset management, strategic and tactical management and personnel management (managing personnel time and discipline and good order). Finally, this position is responsible for the fiscal oversight of the referenced work center.
