About The Position

COTA's Manager, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Application is the lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the support and maintenance of the transportation products, ensuring they are configured to meet COTA's operational needs. The position will manage the staff focused on technical support of the applications and be responsible for their growth and development. Performs other duties in alignment with the COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision to Move Every Life Forward.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five (5) years' experience managing an ITS Product in a managerial, supervisory, or team lead capacity.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or training and relevant experience will also be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Trapeze, Vontas, Motorola, Automatic Passenger Counts is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the support, configuration, and maintenance of COTA's Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) applications-including Trapeze, Vontas, reporting tools, and on‑board technologies-providing application and technical support, troubleshooting, configuration management, testing and approval, and user training and coaching for COTA staff
  • Serves as the primary point of contact with the third-party vendors for ITS related products and support
  • Monitors the performance of the software applications in their support to Operations; partners with Operations to set performance metric goals
  • Monitors the production level performance of the hardware components (including Motorola radios, GPS antennas, etc.) within COTA's fleet of vehicles as well as additional ITS systems positioned for implementation
  • Communicates and suggests countermeasures for problem resolution or adjustments to operational plans
  • Develops documentation to administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the operability of the organization's ITS suite of products and their non-server related components
  • Supervises staff and coordinates their activities in support of Transportation, Vehicle Maintenance, and Mobility Services departments
  • Coordinates with the Business Analysts to ensure built-in reports are utilized appropriately within the various applications to support operational needs
  • Assists in the review and development of improved policies and procedures as required
  • Manages and provides leadership for their staff.
  • Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively.
  • Ensures the organization meets its responsibilities by assisting in identifying problem areas, participating in review of complaints alleging discrimination, and supporting career counseling for employees.
  • Takes corrective action as necessary, on a timely basis, and in accordance with policy
  • Regular, predictable and punctual attendance required
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
