The Opportunity We are seeking candidates to fill the position of Manager, Maintenance Capital Projects. This leader is part of the Project Execution West team based in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of project management fundamentals, be familiar with the GPMC program lifecycle, embrace TC Energy’s safety and quality values, and have a history of proven formal or informal people leadership. This individual will report to the Director of Execution West for U.S. Gas Projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in gas pipeline industry.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering design standards, construction standards, industry codes, and industry regulations.
  • Deep understanding of contract formation process, including technical and commercial documents, bid evaluation process, etc.
  • Ability to use data to predict outcomes, respond proactively, and drive positive results.
  • Ability to create a vision, inspire a team, and clearly communicate direction to drive completion of goals and objectives.
  • Able to navigate a large, geographically dispersed matrix organization to resolve conflicting/competing priorities and deliver best business solution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 5-6 Project Managers accountable for execution of GPMC projects.
  • Ensure company goals and objectives are met. This includes delivering projects safely, compliant with internal and external standards, on time, and within budget.
  • Appropriately resource the team and manage project assignments to ensure team has manageable workload.
  • Develop the skills and talents of less experienced team members through mentoring and training.
  • Enable the team’s peak performance through positive leadership, motivation, and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with leadership from your peer groups, including STS, Project Engineering, Field Ops, Facility Planning, Environmental, Land, etc. to ensure alignment.
  • Support or lead various department initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
