About The Position

About the Role The Manager, Beef Procurement role is responsible for supporting procurement strategy and operational execution across Walmart’s end-to-end Beef Supply Chain network. This role partners with manufacturing facilities, procurement teams, and operational stakeholders to support sourcing decisions, supplier performance, and production outcomes. While prior experience in animal or fresh meat production or sales is important, this role emphasizes strong business judgment, analytical thinking, and the ability to connect production capabilities to procurement and operational objectives. This position is based at Walmart’s new Home Office Campus in Bentonville, Arkansas and will report to the Director of Procurement inside Walmart US’s Fresh Meat and Seafood Merchandising Organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, Agricultural Business, Technology and ERP Systems, or a related field
• Foundational understanding of supply chain concepts such as production planning, inventory management, transportation, and manufacturing operations
• Option 1: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, economics, technology, or related field and 2 years' experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field.

Nice To Haves

• Experience or comfort working with analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar)
• 2+ years of experience in animal protein production, fresh meat operations, procurement, or a related operational role
• Familiarity with procurement, sourcing, or supplier performance management processes
• Comfort working with production and operational performance data
• Ability to influence cross-functional partners without direct people leadership
• Strong business and operational mindset with an interest in procurement and supplier performance
• Ability and willingness to learn complex systems and processes
• Ambition to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility over time
• Clear communicator who can work effectively across teams and with external partners
• Analytical approach to problem-solving and performance improvement
• Interest in food manufacturing, agriculture, sales, and large-scale supply chain operations

Responsibilities

• Support procurement and operational activities across Walmart’s beef manufacturing and supply base
• Partner with internal teams and external manufacturing facilities to align sourcing strategies with production capabilities and operational goals
• Analyze market data and Walmart manufacturing operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
• Support supplier performance by evaluating quality, reliability, and operational outcomes
• Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, operations, and manufacturing stakeholders to support execution and decision-making
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance production efficiency, supplier performance, and overall value
