About The Position

The Parking Services Department within Facilities and Business Operations is seeking to hire a Manager of Transportation Operations. This role is responsible for overseeing daily transportation operations across all UCF campuses. Manages the student transportation service provider to ensure contract compliance and reconciles administrative fees from off-campus housing. This position also supports the maintenance of parking garages and lots, assists with event operations, and represents the department in the absence of the Director or Parking Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
  • Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license.
  • The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
  • Applicant must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer, as sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience managing transportation, parking, event operations, or facilities functions in a campus-like environment (e.g., university, theme park, hospital, or similar large-scale setting).
  • Experience managing transportation service contracts and vendors, including performance oversight, compliance monitoring, and service planning.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations, parking facility management, and event logistics.
  • Familiarity with transportation industry standards, technology (e.g., LPR cameras, wayfinding signage, metered parking systems), and sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience participating in construction project reviews and working collaboratively with contractors, maintenance staff, and facilities teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile, interpret, and report operational data and performance metrics.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, vendors, and external agencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with transportation management systems or work management software preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, in support of large-scale campus events.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Facilities Management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily transportation operations across all UCF campuses, including intra-campus, regional, and off-campus student housing shuttle routes, specialty services, and event transportation.
  • Manage the student transportation vendor to ensure contract compliance, address service issues, verify schedules, and support vendor selection processes.
  • Coordinate and market transportation programs to students, staff, and faculty; recommend service adjustments as needed.
  • Support maintenance projects for parking lots and garages, review construction drawings, inspect contractor work, and ensure compliance with UCF standards for parking equipment and signage.
  • Provide operational and supervisory support for large-scale events such as football games, commencements, and concerts, and serve as a backup for event operations supervisors.
  • Conduct regular inspections of parking facilities, recommend improvements, manage metered parking, reconcile revenue reports, and analyze parking capacities and lot designations.
  • Assist with transportation fee proposals, budget forecasting, and strategic planning for departmental initiatives, including congestion-reduction programs and sustainability projects.
  • Compile, analyze, and report transportation and event operation data, including key performance indicators for shuttle services and operational metrics.
  • Serve in an advisory capacity on university committees such as the Parking and Transportation Advisory Committee (PTAC), Mobility 2030, and EOCC ADA Council; manage partnerships with public transit providers like Lynx.
