About The Position

Manual Machinist Overview: Baton Rouge, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Machinist Apprentice to join our Machine Shop team. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (30-minute lunch from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM). The ideal candidate will operate a manual lathe to produce new parts and refurbish existing repair components. This role reports directly to the Shop Foreman.

Requirements

• Must be detail-oriented
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task effectively
• Must be able to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Manual dexterity required to operate tools and machinery safely
• Must be able to work in a shop environment with varying temperatures and noise levels

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and work orders to identify necessary materials
• Operate and maintain manual lathe and associated tooling
• Machine new parts and repair existing components to required specifications
• Utilize manual tools to finish jobs and ensure final dimensions match engineering drawings
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve any machining or production issues
