About The Position

The Manual Machinist I performs basic machining operations and assists with machine setups to produce aviation components that meet dimensional and quality specifications. This position continues to develop machining skills while supporting production activities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
1--3 years of machining or manufacturing experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Ability to read basic drawings and work instructions.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
Basic understanding of machining principles, including speeds and feeds.
Mechanical problem-solving ability.

Nice To Haves

Technical machining training preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate manual machines such as engine lathes, mills, grinders, or similar equipment.
Perform basic machine setups under supervision.
Mount, align, and secure tools, fixtures, and workpieces on machines.
Measure finished workpieces using precision measuring instruments.
Replace worn cutting tools and adjust speeds and feeds as required.
Stop machines to remove finished parts or change tooling and setups.
Follow router instructions and work instructions for machining operations.
Perform deburring and finishing operations.
Maintain machines, tooling, and work area organization.
Move materials, tools, and fixtures as required to support production flow.
Follow safety procedures and quality standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
