Job Title Manufacturing Application Engineer Sr The Application Engineer is responsible for working with Semiconductor Equipment OEM customers to secure CoorsTek solutions for new business development and product/market share capture. This position will lead efforts on new business opportunities and design wins by working closely with all levels of the customer to understand applications, product specifications, technical challenges, product potential, and overall business case. The application engineer will work internally with Commercial, Strategic Technology, Product Management, Operations, and Engineering groups to provide solutions and proposals for new business and profitable growth by addressing our customers’ complex product and business requirements. We are an ITAR Regulated Company and to be considered for Employment with us you must be either a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident This position may be located in either Santa Clara, CA, Hillsboro, Oregon, or Golden, Colorado. Compensation will be dependent on location of role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering or material science field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing practices, equipment design, and operation.
  • Familiarity with machining processes, metrology, and material analysis.
  • Microsoft Suite/Pivot Tables/Data analysis/Adobe.
  • Acquire deep technical product knowledge.
  • Read, interpret, red-line, and create mechanical drawings and sketches.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds, exhibit strong interpersonal and organizational skills, great attention to detail as well as excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Perform detail-oriented tasks utilizing high language and math skills.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills critical, including the ability to assimilate large amounts of data and provide proposed solutions.
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a highly collaborative, dynamic environment.
  • This position may require domestic and international travel up to 25%

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid Works, or Pro E a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Secure new business opportunities through technical customer engagement and solution offering.
  • Work closely with customer product design teams (engineers, buyers, product managers, etc.) to gather technical data, applicable program information, and business case, to determine effective solution or potential solutions.
  • Manage and oversee quick service/prototyping/NPI quoting activities.
  • Develop relationships at all customer levels to position Coorstek for early design wins and product adoption.
  • Influence designers, senior managers, and internal personnel to ensure project success.
  • Continual and consistent customer and internal engagement to ensure solutions are delivered within committed timelines.
  • Vet potential opportunities, future market significance, and alignment with global trends.
  • Identify, develop, and promote CoorsTek technical capabilities and value propositions.
  • Develop and maintain wide breadth of knowledge surrounding CoorsTek and industry technology/solution offerings.
  • Collaborate with customer and strategic technologists to identify materials and technology road maps for existing, emerging, and future applications.
  • Manage and monitor new opportunities in early production stages to ensure project success.
  • Create, prepare, and deliver proposals.
  • Engage in unexpected or urgent production challenges.
  • Technical resource for the customer and account team.
  • Present company overview and technical product presentations internally and externally.
  • May office and/or has regular presence at customer site.
  • Travel to CoorsTek sites located in US, Asia, and Europe for product trainings, team meetings, customer visits, and as required.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed to build relationships and secure projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
