About The Position

As an Operations Manager you are responsible for leading the daily production of processing, packaging, and shipping/receiving for this Operation. The Operations Manager will ensure safe production of quality products to meet the customer needs in the most cost-effective manner. Direct reports include, but are not limited to, Production Supervisors, Warehouse Supervisors, Inventory Clerks/reconciler(s). Shift Schedule: This is a Monday–Friday day shift position supporting a 24-hour manufacturing facility. Occasional off-shift and weekend on-call availability will be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering or related field. In lieu of a degree, 9 years of progressive experience in operations management, including direct staff management.
  • 5 years’ operations management experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives, including direct staff management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills including MS Outlook, Teams, and Excel
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in basic math skills.
  • Must have the ability to resolve issues in an organized and logical manner.
  • Must be able to handle many diversified tasks at one time.

Nice To Haves

  • Food industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of programs and procedures to maximize production, minimize waste, increase capacity and efficiencies, and maintain product quality and integrity
  • Leads and sponsors focus improvement teams for the continued improvement of operations at the plant.
  • Establish safety as a top priority through training, equipment/job design, work assignments and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure product safety and establish high performance standards in housekeeping, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), International Food Standards (IFS), American Institute of Baking (AIB) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) requirements
  • Adhere to the Food Defense and Security functions within the facility
  • Constantly evaluates team performance to efficiently coordinate the necessary resources for the schedule attainment.
  • Evaluate team performance efficiencies and coordinates necessary resources for schedule attainment
  • Coaches, teaches, and coordinates and evaluates programs for team members to develop skills advantageous to the companies needs and goals
  • Operational responsibilities include controlling costs in raw ingredients, direct labor, operating expenses, and capital expenditures
  • Develops in coordination with other managers an annual budget for production
  • Works with and manages capital projects for production/warehouse
  • Works closely with the Maintenance Team to coordinate improvement projects (Capital and local budget)
  • Supports supervisors/leads/coordinators through coaching, development, regular follow up, performance reviews and operations team and projects
  • Ensure consistency in application of rules, policies and procedures across all shifts and all team members
  • Work to establish and implement a culture of order, discipline and adherence to Dawn Values and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
