About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as the Communications, Marketing & Engagement Assistant. In this position, you will contribute to the planning and execution of marketing & engagement strategies for Career Education initiatives, while also serving as a frontline member of the Career Education Team. Your work will involve coordinating digital and print marketing materials, working on engagement activities, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting students in their career exploration and job search.

Requirements

  • Critical thinking, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and video editing software.
  • Comfortable with social media platforms (posting, engagement, content creation).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to adapt your communication style to different audiences.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering quality customer service and upholding professional standards while handling inquiries and providing feedback.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A desire to engage in professional development and to receive constructive feedback to improve performance.
  • Minimum completion of second year in a relevant post-secondary program.
  • Understanding of career development resources and interest in career development.

  • Preference given to candidates enrolled in programs that balance social, creative, and technical skills development (e.g., Marketing, Communications, or related fields).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and execution of engagement strategies for career events, workshops, and programs.
  • Work with the Career Education Team to develop marketing and promotional materials for CCEE initiatives, ensuring alignment with Brock's Branding Standards.
  • Design engaging digital content, including graphics for social media and print using tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Update content for social media accounts to keep students informed on Career Education programs and events using tools such as Loomly
  • Assist in the planning and dissemination of surveys, polls, and focus groups for evaluating marketing efforts and gathering feedback.
  • Provide feedback and assist with setting measurable goals for digital marketing campaigns.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, offering guidance on career exploration and job search strategies, both in-person and virtually.
  • Engage students in career conversations, triaging inquiries and referring them to the appropriate staff members or resources.
  • Provide feedback on job search documents such as resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and portfolios.
  • Collaborate with Career Education staff to develop training materials and resources to support student engagement and career development.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries and assist with data entry and experience verification through the Co-Curricular Record (CCR) system.
  • Work with various members of the Career Education Team to plan and coordinate activities for the upcoming academic year, ensuring timely preparation for events.
  • Help evaluate the effectiveness of career education services and provide recommendations for improvements.
