About The Position

GCC is the official philanthropic and collaborative partner of Grand Canyon National Park. GCC's mission is to inspire generations of park champions to cherish and support the natural and cultural wonder of the Grand Canyon. GCC raises private funds, operates retail shops within the park, and provides premier educational programs about the natural and cultural history of the region. Our donors fund projects including trails and historic building preservation, educational programs for the public, and the protection of wildlife and their natural habitat. Grand Canyon Conservancy (GCC) is currently seeking a social media-savvy, energetic, and collaborative Marketing Coordinator to join our on-site team based at the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Marketing and in collaboration with other members of the Marketing and Communications team, this position focuses on developing content for internal and external communication platforms crucial to driving engagement, increasing brand awareness, and fostering a vibrant community passionate about GCC and Grand Canyon National Park. The candidate must have experience and skills in social media, promotions, events, and email marketing, as well as strong administrative and project management abilities. This is a full-time (approximately 40 hours/week), nonexempt/hourly position that is benefit-eligible. Due to the unique nature of responsibilities associated with it, work is performed predominately at the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Applicants must confirm that, if hired, they will reside and work within approximately a one-hour drive of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Requirements

  • Prior professional experience supporting the marketing and administrative functions of a program and/or project, preferably within a non-profit organization that is mission-driven; skillset is generally obtained within a minimum of three years of experience, but academic achievement in marketing, journalism, communications, digital media and/or related endeavors may be considered in lieu of expressed level of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in engaging audiences, telling compelling stories, and driving community or donor engagement through digital channels.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities, especially in social media content; able to craft posts, articles, and marketing content that align with GCC brand standards. Experience in copywriting, content management, and editing marketing materials.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team of enthusiastic, dedicated people focused on engaging donors, prospects, and partners on GCC’s vital mission.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Social Media and Content Manager with weekly social media posts, scheduling, and responses to social media content.
  • Support the development of compelling content such as blogs, magazine articles, fact sheets, talking points, and other content under the direction of the Associate Director of Marketing.
  • Capture and edit photos and videos at the canyon to enhance outreach and storytelling efforts.
  • Assist with the planning for onsite events and activations at the park (including Field Institute and Residency programming, Grand Gathering, and Celebration of Art), ensuring collateral and signage are developed and distributed, and logistics, site details, run-of-show implementation, and day-of-event support are confirmed.
  • Represent GCC at park events like Star Party, Cultural Demonstrations, Native American Heritage Days, and more, as well as festivals and events in surrounding communities (Flagstaff, Williams, Tusayan) to promote the organization and build awareness.
  • Coordinate meetings with various internal (GCC) and external (GRCA, vendors, concessioners) stakeholders under the direction of the Associate Director of Marketing and/or other leaders and take notes as necessary.
  • Provide administrative support to the Marketing and Communications team as needed, including department scheduling and event coordination and other general administrative duties.
