About The Position

For nearly 40 years, nonprofit AccessLex Institute has been partnering with our member institutions the nearly 200 state-affiliated and nonprofit ABA-approved law schools to meet the ever-changing needs and challenges of law students and the legal education community we serve. From providing free resources for every step of the law school journey to maximizing the value and affordability of a law degree through research and policy advocacy, we exist to increase access and further the success of aspiring lawyers from admission to law school to admission to the bar. Annual compensation for the Marketing Copywriter and Editor position is $70,000-75,000. Position reports to West Chester office on Thursdays. Job Summary: The Marketing Copywriter and Editor is a key member of the Marketing and Communications team, serving as a trusted writing and editing resource across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Copywriter and Editor, this role supports clear, consistent, and on-brand messaging across channels and audiences, including leadership and executive stakeholders. The Marketing Copywriter and Editor contributes to advancing the priorities of AccessLex Institute and Helix Bar Review by AccessLex by translating complex ideas into compelling, audience-focused content. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor with excellent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a collaborative environment.

  • Bachelors degree, communications or marketing preferred
  • Minimum 4-5 years of related experience in a similar role
  • Experience in financial services or higher education preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit content across all channels, including emails, newsletters, press releases, social media and advertising, websites, publications, and print and digital materials
  • Proofread and edit content for clarity, grammar, consistency, and accuracy , including basic fact-checking and coordinating internal approvals (SMEs, leadership) when needed
  • Help manage content requests through intake, drafting, stakeholder review, revisions, and final delivery to ensure quality, accuracy, and on-time completion
  • Apply established brand voice, tone, and style standards across marketing channels
  • Partner with product/sales teams and subject matter experts to translate business goals into effective messaging
  • Ghostwrite content for C-level executives and subject matter experts
  • Manage public relations vendor and strategy; coordinate interviews and commentary and ensure KPIs are met
  • Contribute to the creation of advertising materials, including relationship building emails, meetings, and events campaigns, and other sales and marketing resources
  • Make recommendations for improvements, edits, changes, and updates to design and copy where appropriate
  • Support testing and reviews of digital content, including emails, social media posts etc.
  • Ensure consistency and brand protection in all marketing and communications material, both online and in print
  • Own, maintain, and distribute Company copywriting guidelines
  • Develop and refine marketing communications goals and priorities in conjunction with marketing leaders
  • Support content calendar and campaign planning by proposing topics, messaging, and content repurposing opportunities
  • Campaign and project management as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
