About The Position

The Marketing Intelligence Lead Analyst is responsible for conducting high-priority market research projects that directly affect the UPMC brand, product, and member experience strategies. The Marketing Intelligence Lead Analyst must be able to multi-task, work well with business stakeholders across the UPMC organization and maintain relationships with external vendors. The lead analyst will be responsible for assessing the research needs of stakeholders in both the Health System and Insurance Services Divisions of UPMC and recommending appropriate research methodologies. Additionally, the Lead Analyst will work to continually improve current research processes. The Lead Analyst is an individual contributor that leads high priority research projects with little oversight. This role follows a Monday–Friday schedule during standard business hours. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Market Research/Market Intelligence certifications required.
  • Three to five years' experience with primary and/or secondary research focus.
  • Experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Extensive experience developing survey questionnaires, focus group screeners and moderator guides.
  • Experience using online research platforms to develop online surveys, reports, and dashboards.
  • Proven track record of taking complex research findings and creating a story that colleagues without a research background can understand.
  • Advanced level user of SPSS or equivalent data analysis tool.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to support and build relationships with many departments and external vendors.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a team environment.
  • Ability to work with senior management.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare/health insurance industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and departments to support the business needs of both the UPMC Health System and UPMC Health Plan. The research performed by this individual is a key component of the assessment of the success of many organizational initiatives. Studies designed to measure Brand Perception, Advertising Effectiveness and Customer Satisfaction are among the many that are performed on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure strategic alignment between the departmental goals and the development of market research projects to meet departmental objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, increase productivity, and improve cost-efficiency across market research campaigns and tactics.
  • Lead all aspects of research projects assigned.
  • Expertise at performing complex data analysis such as multivariate statistical analysis (correlation, regression, factor analysis, decision trees, etc.)
  • Use advanced analytical techniques to identify key drivers of member engagement, retention, satisfaction and purchasing decisions and effectively communicate findings.
  • Perform additional ad hoc analysis as needed and other related duties as assigned.
  • Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Strong understanding of all facets of market research (strategy, tracking, reporting, analysis, actionable recommendations).
  • Ensure research projects are compliant with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain relationships and ensure strategic success with external vendors.
