About The Position

The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic massage services that promote relaxation, recovery, and overall wellness for members and guests. Requirements

  • Current state licensure as a Massage Therapist (required)
  • Certification from an accredited massage therapy program
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to apply appropriate pressure during massage sessions
  • Comfortable working in a quiet, wellness-focused environment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a wellness, fitness, or spa environment preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional massage therapy services, including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, and therapeutic massage techniques.
  • Conduct client consultations to assess needs, medical history, and wellness goals.
  • Customize sessions to meet individual client needs while ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Maintain appropriate draping, sanitation, and professional boundaries at all times.
  • Create a welcoming, calming, and inclusive environment for all clients.
  • Educate clients on wellness, recovery, and self-care practices when appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships to support member retention and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate client records and session notes in accordance with YMCA policies.
  • Manage scheduling, punctuality, and time management for all appointments.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Follow all YMCA policies related to safety, confidentiality, and risk management.
  • Adhere to all state licensing requirements and professional standards.
  • Maintain current certifications and continuing education as required.
  • Ensure proper sanitation and infection control procedures are followed.
