The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic massage services that promote relaxation, recovery, and overall wellness for members and guests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide professional massage therapy services, including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, and therapeutic massage techniques. Conduct client consultations to assess needs, medical history, and wellness goals. Customize sessions to meet individual client needs while ensuring safety and comfort. Maintain appropriate draping, sanitation, and professional boundaries at all times. Create a welcoming, calming, and inclusive environment for all clients. Educate clients on wellness, recovery, and self-care practices when appropriate. Build positive relationships to support member retention and engagement. Maintain accurate client records and session notes in accordance with YMCA policies. Manage scheduling, punctuality, and time management for all appointments. Ensure treatment rooms are clean, organized, and properly stocked. Follow all YMCA policies related to safety, confidentiality, and risk management. Adhere to all state licensing requirements and professional standards. Maintain current certifications and continuing education as required. Ensure proper sanitation and infection control procedures are followed. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions Ability to apply appropriate pressure during massage sessions Comfortable working in a quiet, wellness-focused environment Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS: Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends based on member demand
