About The Position

The Material Support Technician is responsible for the receipt, processing, tracking, storage, and re-issuance of aircraft assets removed during maintenance activities. This position ensures proper accountability, security, and inventory control of all Aircraft Asset Management (AAM) items while supporting aircraft maintenance operations. The technician maintains strict asset control procedures, conducts regular inventories, and coordinates with Government Maintenance Representatives (GMRs), production controllers, and maintenance personnel to ensure timely asset availability and accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum Interim Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Ability to manage detailed records and maintain strict accountability of government assets.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate with multiple maintenance personnel and supervisors.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with inventory control, asset management, logistics, or aircraft maintenance support preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Track, secure, and account for all Aircraft Asset Management (AAM) items received, released, routed, stored, or inventoried.
  • Maintain positive control of all assets placed in storage through routine monitoring and a minimum of twice-weekly inventories.
  • Conduct thorough inventories and audits to verify all assets removed from aircraft have been properly processed for storage or routed as required.
  • Manage and control all assets processed during previous maintenance gates, including daily tracking and reporting discrepancies to the Government Maintenance Representative (GMR).
  • Ensure assets are properly packaged and secured on pallets or in containers to prevent damage and eliminate risk of injury to personnel.
  • Maintain accurate inventory sheets and issue logbooks for all assets in storage until they are removed for reinstallation or other authorized actions.
  • Process stored assets in the same manner as those listed on prepopulated inventories to maintain full accountability.
  • Retrieve and reissue stored assets for aircraft reinstallation, repair routing, or other authorized maintenance requirements.
  • Deliver requested assets to maintenance personnel within two hours of request and notify the requesting mechanic when assets are available.
  • Coordinate with production controllers/schedulers to support maintenance activities and ensure efficient asset movement.
  • Update parts trackers, inventory forms, and asset control documentation to maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor and track all parts movement related to aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Maintain presence at the designated work area during all maintenance activities.
  • Work closely with GMRs and maintenance personnel while following scripted procedures to support aircraft maintenance workflows.
