Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Must have a strong attendance record
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to work hours outside of the regular shift
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to wear a respirator
  • The position requires ascending, descending stairs, standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, twisting, overhead reach, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various quality inspections and preparations unsupervised.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles (PIVs)
  • Ability to perform field calls and sample prep activities unsupervised,
  • Under an approved trainer, perform alloy change quality checks.
  • Become certified to perform TIP microstructure analysis.
  • Under supervision of a qualified rater, perform reactive metallography inspections.
  • Take and pass exams related to material specifications.
  • Support the continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • The position requires ascending, descending stairs, standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, twisting, overhead reach, lifting up to 25 pounds, working at heights over 60’ with harness, working in loud, bright areas, using metal processing equipment (i.e., saws, grinders, etc.) and looking through microscopes.
  • Refer difficulties to Supervisor or Team Leader.
  • May be assigned to tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
  • On occasion you may be required to work hours outside of your typical shift.
