About The Position

CGS is looking for an OSC Chief of Operations to support the US Army's Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, KS. By creating and testing real-world scenarios, you know how to help military organizations make faster and smarter decisions based on data. As the Opposing Forces (OPFOR) Chief of Operations, you'll develop, implement, and measure the effectiveness of plans and procedures for clients, creating rich content to help you tell a realistic story. You'll listen to client challenges and identify threats, gaps, or risks that need to be explored and provide a safe space for recommendations that will make lasting, real-world impact. As a leader in the firm's Army Sector, you'll have the chance to work cross-functionally with planners and scenario developers on projects that are making an impact on critical missions. You'll share your expertise and collaborate with the industry's best trainers and coaches.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Army and Joint regulations and current doctrine.
  • Ability to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 5% of the time)
  • One or more of the following: BS/BA degree with 5 years of military experience or High School and 10 years of military experience.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree.
  • Military Education Level (MEL) 4
  • Experience as a former field grade officer, warrant officer, or sergeant major.
  • Successfully served in a key developmental position at brigade/battalion level.
  • Combat Arms experience.
  • Experience with Constructive Simulation Models (e.g., Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC), Warfighters Simulation (WARSIM) .
  • Experience with FM 7-100 series OPFOR doctrine.
  • Experience working with the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Chief of Staff in daily supervision and control of the OPFOR contractor staff.
  • Participates in the OPFOR military decision-making process to develop OPFOR competitive Operations Orders.
  • Ensures all Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL) requirements are submitted on time and that they meet or exceed standards.
  • Supports the military OPFOR Commander.
  • Is the OPFOR's chief of the movement and maneuver warfighting function lead responsible for integrating and synchronizing the operation for the commander.
  • Ensures warfighting function integration and synchronization across the planning horizons.
  • Authenticates all plans and orders for the commander to ensure the warfighting functions are synchronized in time, space, and purpose in accordance with the commander's intent and planning guidance.
  • Has coordinating staff responsibility for the aviation officer, engineer officer, military information support officer, information operations officer, EW officer, cyber officer and space operations officer.
  • Attends Event Life Cycle (ELC) events as required.
