About The Position

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will enhance and support an environment where all team members are able to participate in CI (continuous improvement) and utilize tools on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing/assembly experience
  • Ability to wear the necessary Personal Protective Equipment
  • Must be able to individually lift and/or carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Build large and small components of life rafts using many different types of materials
  • Document required steps and signatures for quality assurance
  • Follow quality procedures and documentation accurately
  • Bond materials together using adhesives
  • Maintain high levels of quality
  • Maintain high levels of safety for yourself and others and responsible for wearing/using defined PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Work and communicate effectively in a complex team environment
  • 100% of time spent on production floor with variable amounts of noise
  • Constant daily exposure to adhesive and solvent vapors.
  • Ability to wear gloves (including latex) to protect hands while working with production chemicals.
  • Minimal exposure to machinery with moving parts
  • Ability to use and manipulate clamps, brushes (with gloves on), pushers, scissors, seam tape and talc
