Position Overview: As an Assembler I, you will support a range of activities in a high-energy production environment putting together the final assembly to manufacture the best rail vehicles in the world.

Requirements

  • High school education, GED, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing or similar environment or similar environment, such as construction, automotive, or electrical service industries.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatics
  • Basic English skills - ability to read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate verbally.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble units in the production of light rail vehicles, locomotives, and coaches, including roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, panels, air supply racks, and piping assemblies.
  • Connect wires between individual component leads, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Perform electrical wire terminations.
  • Cut wires to specified lengths and routes, comb, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wires to terminal points.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, and reassemble components as required.
  • Perform tasks requiring knowledge of various processes, operations, and equipment.
  • Work from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches, and verbal instructions to produce electrical or electro-mechanical subassemblies.
