About The Position

DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW: The Mechanical Deign Engineer supports engineering teams by assisting with Work Definition (WD) entry, documentation preparation, and data management for new and existing product designs. This is an entry-level role focused on learning company systems, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting the release of engineering documentation for manufacturing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 0–2 years of experience (internships or co-ops acceptable).
  • Basic understanding of: Engineering drawings BOMs and product structures
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Attention to detail, Data entry accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn systems and processes.
  • Organization and time management, Basic technical communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to PLM or ERP systems (e.g., Agile, Windchill, Oracle).
  • Internship or project experience involving documentation or data entry.
  • Interest in manufacturing or product development environments.

Responsibilities

  • Work Definition (WD) Support Assist in creating and entering Work Definition (WD) data into PLM/ERP systems (e.g., Agile, Oracle).
  • Support the setup of: Bills of Materials (BOMs) Part numbers and basic product structures Verify data accuracy and follow established templates and guidelines.
  • Work with senior engineers to review and validate WD before release.
  • Documentation Preparation & Release Assist in preparing documentation packages for new and updated designs, including: Engineering drawings Specifications Basic assembly instructions Support document release processes under guidance.
  • Maintain proper file organization and revision control.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Support Provide documentation and WD support for new product launches.
  • Help ensure required data and documents are ready for production.
  • Assist in identifying missing or incomplete information.
  • Engineering Change Support Assist with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs/ECNs).
  • Update WD and documents based on approved changes.
  • Track revisions and maintain accurate records.
  • Cross-Functional Support Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams as needed.
  • Seek guidance to resolve data or documentation issues.
  • Participate in training to build system and process knowledge.
