About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineer to support the design, maintenance, and operational efficiency of our health club facilities across more than 80 locations in 10+ states. This role is responsible for ensuring that all building systems—including HVAC, electrical infrastructure, plumbing, and energy systems—operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on engineering expertise with strong project management skills and be comfortable traveling to multiple club locations to assess systems, oversee upgrades, and support new facility development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 5–10+ years of experience working with commercial building MEP systems.
  • Experience managing construction or renovation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical distribution, plumbing infrastructure, and building automation systems.
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency practices and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ability to review engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (approximately 25% depending on project needs).
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with executives, operations teams, and contractors.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting multi-site facilities, hospitality, retail, or fitness facilities preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar credential is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, review, and optimize HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems across club facilities.
  • Develop engineering standards for new club construction, remodels, and system upgrades.
  • Evaluate facility infrastructure to improve energy efficiency, reliability, and lifecycle performance.
  • Troubleshoot complex MEP issues and provide technical guidance to facility teams.
  • Support the planning and execution of new club builds, expansions, and major renovations.
  • Review contractor drawings, engineering plans, and equipment specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders during construction projects.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance teams across all locations.
  • Develop preventative maintenance strategies for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through system upgrades, controls optimization, and energy management.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
  • Support inspections, audits, and regulatory requirements related to building systems.
  • Maintain documentation for engineering standards, system specifications, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with engineering consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors.
  • Assist with RFP development, vendor selection, and contract review for engineering projects.
  • Travel to club locations across multiple states to conduct site inspections, oversee installations, and support facility teams.
