About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer (Switchboards) is responsible for engineering customer orders including detailed review of layout and application of equipment, wiring and component selection, component layout and modeling using 3D cad software, and supports various phases of order management from initial engineering review thru production shipment. In this function you will: Verify that complete and accurate order entry information has been received for incoming switchboard orders. Prepare Manufacturing Information (MI) for switchboards, utilizing Bid Manager, AutoCAD, and Plant Order Manager. Identify and design special fabricated parts required using ACAD and 3-D modeling systems (Auto-Desk Inventor, etc.), ensuring that MI's are completed and the material is routed accordingly to the appropriate assembly team. Provide input to Product Line development teams on design and pick table enhancements. Support and assist assembly teams in resolution of process and/or information quality problems. Support Satellite Plants thru design review and product implementation. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution OR currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Engineering from an accredited institution with an expected graduation date by May 2026.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP Systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Autodesk (AutoCAD and 3D Inventor)
  • Demonstrated technical and application knowledge of switchboards
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal & written communications, organizational & computer skills
