About The Position

We’re seeking a motivated engineering student to join our team this summer. This hands-on internship provides real-world experience in product design, testing, validation, and continuous improvement. The intern will support technical documentation, product validation, data analysis, prototype development, and process improvement initiatives. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to impactful projects across the full product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time student in a two-year or four-year college or university program. A major in Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field, is strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of 2D and 3D mechanical design using CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar design tools.
  • Foundational understanding of mechanical engineering principles gained through coursework, laboratory work, or academic projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and analysis.
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CAD models, assemblies and drawings for CNC machinists, and design change orders.
  • Conduct development testing of pressure and load products in a lab environment.
  • Create product documentation change orders to revise / release bills of materials.
  • Learn and use SolidWorks PDM to manage engineering documentation.
  • Participate in A3PS initiative to reduce scrap by evaluating products to determine root cause of issues.
  • Use 3D printing equipment to build prototype parts and test fixtures.
  • Prepare reports concerning project specifications, test data, completed activities, or updating current status.
  • Evaluate products for cost and cost out initiatives.
