About The Position

The Med Tech / Caregiver is responsible for providing direct care and support to residents in a group home setting, with a primary focus on medication administration, health monitoring, and assistance with activities of daily living. This role ensures the safety, well-being, and dignity of residents while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience as a caregiver, med tech, or in a similar role preferred.
  • Medication administration certification (as required by state regulations; may be obtained after hire).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (must be obtained within six months of hire).
  • Valid driver’s license (if transporting residents).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with transfers or mobility as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
  • Ability to pass required criminal background checks and exclusion screenings.
  • Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a group home setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications to residents according to physician orders and organizational protocols.
  • Document medication administration and report any medication errors or adverse reactions promptly.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Monitor residents’ health status and report changes or concerns to the House Manager or appropriate medical personnel.
  • Support residents in meal preparation, feeding, and dietary needs as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, resident observations, and incidents.
  • Assist with housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to residents.
  • Participate in resident care planning and team meetings as needed.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow all safety protocols.
  • Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Attend required training sessions and maintain certifications as required by state and organizational standards.
