OSU Physicians is pleased to share that our Neurology team is growing, and we are currently seeking a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) to support our expanding clinical services. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work.
  • Independent Ohio license (LISW or LISW-S) to practice.
  • At least two years in independent clinical practice.
  • Expertise/training in cognitive-behavioral and/or interpersonal psychotherapy, and understanding of the psychosocial aspects of chronic illness.
  • Familiarity with the DSM-V.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player

Responsibilities

  • Providing clinical work with patients with mental health diagnoses including individual, group, and couple/family therapy to assist patients to determine treatment goals, return to previous or improved functioning; form aftercare plan; advocate within local community if needed; work as part of clinical team; maintain third party payer relationships.
  • The Mental Health Therapist provides care to primary care patients experiencing stress or stress-related illness during life events, mood and anxiety disorders.
  • This individual will serve as a critical part of our clinical team, providing psychotherapy and related services for our patients.
