About The Position

Oneida Professional Services is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Support Assistant (MSA) to support the Patient Support Services Department. This is a fully-on site position in Bethesda, MD. The MSA plays a critical role in patient scheduling, administrative operations, and customer service. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position is contingent on the award of a federal contract.

Requirements

  • Experience in a clinical or administrative support role.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse patient populations, including those with limited English proficiency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to follow established protocols and maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with medical scheduling or electronic health record systems (e.g., CRIS, Enterprise Scheduling, Careware).
  • Knowledge of hospital operations or clinical administrative procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and manage patient appointments using Enterprise Scheduling, CRIS, and other institute systems.
  • Update appointment statuses daily and provide itineraries and instructions to patients.
  • Support staff scheduling using the Careware Nurse Scheduling System and enter variances as needed.
  • Greet patients and visitors, provide directions, and maintain a professional and welcoming front-desk environment.
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality and secure-communication protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain patient records, ensuring proper labeling, filing, and transfer to Medical Records.
  • Answer phone calls using standard greeting protocol; relay messages accurately and promptly.
  • Monitor and maintain clinic/unit readiness, including supplies, equipment, and cleanliness.
  • Respond to patient needs, escort patients as required, and assist clinical staff with non-clinical tasks.
  • Track and stock medical, pharmaceutical, and office supplies; place orders and monitor expiration dates.
  • Enter data, generate reports, maintain logs, update contact lists, and support basic administrative documentation.
  • Assist with mail distribution, key log tracking, and other administrative duties as assigned.
