About The Position

We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to join our team. You should possess a trained eye for detail, be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and excellent comprehension of quality standards are also required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience as a CMM programmer in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent in Engineering or Quality from a college/university or technical school. B.S preferred.
  • Must have outstanding analytical skills.
  • Must be proficient in written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in various problem-solving methods, including: 8D, 5-WHY, 5P, etc.
  • Proven ability to use various precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, height gage, gage blocks gage pins, etc.
  • Proficient in writing, editing and running CMM programs for complex parts and components. Must be able to program from electronic drawing files or "reverse engineer" a program from a part alone.
  • Proficient in the ability to measure parts on a fixed gage or in the free-state
  • Proficient in reading mechanical drawings
  • Thorough and in-depth working knowledge and hands-on experience with GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, promote, and participate in activities to support safety and quality.
  • Participate as a Trainer when needed.
  • Develop and maintain CMM work instructions.
  • Perform part layouts/inspections using precision measuring instruments including: micrometers, calipers, height gage, pin gages, gage blocks, comparator, bore gages, thread gages, and spectrophotometer, etc.
  • Support the Quality Engineers in meeting part submission requirements and/or validation
  • Provide documented reports and explanation of inspection results.
  • Performs capability studies as required by internal or external customers.
  • Develop and maintain the gage control systems.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions on proper use of inspection fixtures/gages.
  • Train others to run existing inspection programs on the CMM.
  • Participate in corrective action investigations and resulting action items.
  • Make recommendations for overall improvement of the gage control systems and layout processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry inspection technology and techniques. Introduce these into the facility as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
