About The Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Develops, directs and leads personnel in the management of complex distribution programs and projects consisting of cross-functional teams involving multiple engineering disciplines and multiple construction areas including contract resources. Responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and budget of multiple projects and programs. These projects have budgets that will typically range from $50,000 to multi-million dollars. Implement and monitor reliability programs to ensure that committed reliability projects are designed and completed on time. Obtain financial approval for projects. Directly interface with internal departments, including multi-levels of leadership, and leaders of municipalities and governmental agencies to ensure understanding of the programs under his/her responsibility. Assure the focus and attainment of business goals and objectives. Develop and maintain an environment that promotes safety, diversity and inclusion, and high productivity. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 7-10 years of delivery experience
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering designs, principles and practices
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, practices, and advanced engineering principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of latest technologies necessary to perform a variety of specialized unique or complex assignments for various installation types of services.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member, including the ability to handle conflicting priorities in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, problem solving, motivational, negotiation, time management, and oral/written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to create effective working relationships with employees, customers, other departments, and outside agencies, extremely customer focused
  • Self-initiator and proven performance management skills
  • Proven leadership ability in a high performance culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree or graduate level work in Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management Certification.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • 3-5 years of supervisor or manager experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis, development and implementation of reliability plans to improve the overall distribution system performance. Ensure alignment of work with financial targets to meet system performance requirements.
  • Manages large and/or complex and unique projects / programs, requiring application of established project management principles and techniques. Directly accountable to deliver project / program on time and at or below budget. Manage the overall budget.
  • Interface with internal and external customers, including leadership of all municipalities and major businesses served by the Company, to ensure understanding of system improvement plans.
  • Responsible to interface with other departments to ensure compliance for the scope, schedule, and budget of programs and projects.
  • Primary communicator with the project sponsor and key stakeholders on project issues including executive level presentations.
  • Lead, coach and develop team members to improve performance and meet or exceed expectations. Mentor less experienced colleagues. Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations. Conduct performance planning and appraisals. Identify opportunities for growth and learning.
  • Lead or participate in system-wide initiatives regarding the electric distribution system, reliability, preventative maintenance, and regulatory compliance issues.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $120,800.00/Yr. – $166,100.00/Yr.
