We’re actively seeking a Platform Engineering Consultant to join our M365 Engineering team in Newport Beach, CA. This is a fully on‑site role at our state‑of‑the-art corporate headquarters. As a Platform Engineering Consultant you will play a key role in advancing Pacific Life’s modern workplace by architecting, optimizing, and supporting Microsoft 365 applications and capabilities. You’ll bring deep expertise across the M365 ecosystem — from Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online to security, identity, and emerging AI‑driven productivity tools — ensuring our workforce has secure, scalable, and reliable digital experiences.

Requirements

  • Expertise across the Microsoft 365 application suite with hands‑on experience designing and supporting solutions in Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Intune, Azure AD, and related services.
  • Experience with prompt engineering, Copilot Studio agent development, and integrating generative AI features into core M365 apps and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI, data governance, privacy, and compliance within regulated industries.
  • Architectural proficiency with M365 Hybrid environments, identity management, and M365 security protection suites.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into M365‑based solutions that improve productivity, automate processes, and simplify user experience.
  • 10+ years designing, architecting, and deploying Microsoft platform–based solutions.
  • 7+ years serving as an M365 SME in an enterprise environment.
  • 5+ years architecting or migrating workloads to M365 cloud services.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of hands‑on experience implementing and supporting Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio in a large enterprise.
  • Microsoft certifications (MCSE, M365 Administrator Expert, etc.).
  • Proven ability to present M365 roadmaps and solution designs to senior leaders.
  • Experience leading engineering teams through M365‑related projects and implementation plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and delivery of M365 solutions, including Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Intune, Azure AD, identity protection, and related M365 security workloads.
  • Implement and optimize Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio capabilities, enabling secure and scalable AI‑powered workflows across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with business and engineering partners to build M365‑powered automations, applications, workflows, and custom Copilot Studio agents aligned to Pacific Life’s objectives.
  • Serve as the M365 SME, providing technical guidance, troubleshooting, governance insights, and best practices across collaboration, communication, and AI capabilities.
  • Monitor the Microsoft 365 roadmap, evaluate new features, and drive proactive adoption strategies to keep Pacific Life at the forefront of modern workplace innovation.
